After studying Arts and Sciences, History of Art with focus on American Modernism and Design, and Fine Arts Glass at Ohio State University, Mike Rozell worked successfully with glass for ten years. Nowadays he considers himself an artist who makes furniture. Rozell accentuates the furniture with his selection of wood, picking by hand to find the right choice of grain and color. His combination of American hardwoods and exotic woods, the unique use of burl wood as well as the gaps and spaces he creates in his furniture to change the perception of thick wood sets him apart from other studio furniture artists.
