Rare Set of eight Knoll Oak Chairs with Leather Webbing
France, 1950s
A rare set of eight French dining chairs from the 1950s, composed of six side chairs and two chairs with armrests. The solid wooden frames show a clear architectural structure, with open backs, angled legs and finely proportioned armrests.
The set has been fully restored and reglued, with new leather webbing made in the same type of natural leather originally used for these chairs in France during the period.
The two armchairs measure 53 cm in depth and 54 cm in width. Restored condition with natural signs of age to the wooden frames.
An extra pair in a separate listing is also available from us and would complement the set of eight chairs we are offering. They are in the same fully restored condition, with the only difference being one additional leather strap on the backrest, as shown in the last photos.
The pair can be added to the set of eight to create a set of ten chairs. Despite this small difference, the chairs work beautifully together and can also be used as a pair on their own.
