Signed and dated on the underside: Mira Nakashima, March 14, 2026. Mira Nakashima, born in 1942, is a renowned American architect and furniture designer. She is the daughter of George Nakashima, a legendary woodworker. After earning her degrees in architecture from Harvard University and Waseda University, she joined her father's workshop in New Hope, Pennsylvania. Following his death in 1990, Mira became the head of George Nakashima Woodworkers.
Under her leadership, the workshop continues to craft handmade, custom furniture, preserving her father’s legacy while introducing her own designs. Mira’s work highlights the natural beauty of wood and emphasizes craftsmanship and material honesty.
